Goepfert AG
Founded on 1st of October 1911 by Ernst Göpfert the company has always been involved in the production of valves and is proud to look back at 112 years of valuable experience in this field. Therefore we have almost 112 years of experience in the development and production of valves. The production process has been changed several times over the years and has been adjusted to market requirements. In 1911 all our valves have been produced using brass for home and garden useage.
Nowadays, most of our valves are used for shipbuilding and industrial installations out of different compositions. Our product range covers all valves used for shipbuilding as well as customer specific valves, which are developed together with our customers.
Also, our distribution network has changed over the years. In the early days the Göpfert products have been sold mainly in the german district "Dithmarschen" and, later on, also in the northern part of Germany. Today more than 80% of the company's turnover is based on export markets through German and European wholesalers as well as direct business with shipyards world wide.
Our valves can be found on all types of vessels and are used in new buildings in Europe and Asia. Also, the most exclusive cruise vessel "MS Europa" from Hapag Lloyd has been equipped with our valves.
Apart from the shipbuilding market, our valves are used in land-operated industrial complexes in Saudi-Arabia, North and South America and Greece.
Each ferry on the Kiel-canal (known in Germany as the Nord-Ostsee-Kanal) is using our fire fighting valves. Fireboats in Hamburg and Bremen are using our fire monitors. We are the manufacturer of the valves for the submarines class 212 of the German Navy. The class-212-submarines are, worldwide, the first equipped with hydrogen fuel cells.
Nowadays, Göpfert develops and produces valves and fittings in accordance to the requirements of 20 different norms and regulations. Our in-house foundry has been certified by DNV (Det Norske Veritas / Germanischer Lloyd) and LR (Lloyds Register).
Furthermore, our valves have type approvals from ABS, Lloyds Register, DNV (Det Norske Veritas / Germanischer Lloyd) and RMRS (Russian Maritime Register of Shipping), which eliminates the need in many cases for an extra certification. However, if required, all major classification societies are regulary coming to Göpfert.
We are pleased to help you in all questions about valves.
